Julia joined the Todobebé executive team in 2003 to launch the development of the TV properties, following a career that spans twenty years in production, promotions, format development and marketing in the fields of TV, Music, Film promotions, and Entertainment. In addition to her role as Executive Producer of both the Todobebé and Viva La Familia Television shows, Julia is jointly responsible for overseeing creative development of new formats and expanding TV initiatives in the U.S. and internationally.
Julia’s experience in production and entertainment has included diverse roles such as: Co-Creator and Executive Producer of “Delicioso” a lifestyle format produced with Ingrid Hoffman in both Spanish and English for Cosmopolitan TV, and Galavision, and was picked up by the Food Network. She also brings experience on productions for Fine Living, and Telemundo Network news covering the March 2003 U.S. war on Iraq, casting for companies such as CVS Pharmacies and Home Depot, and advertising production for TV spots for Wendy’s, Marshall’s and T.J. Maxx.
In her capacity as a director at Telefonica Media (the media arm of Telefonica), Julia initiated development of a music division, and was responsible for evaluating potential strategic alliances and acquisition targets to grow its portfolio of companies in the media and entertainment industry in Latin America.
Her experience also includes her role as Creative Director at Televisa where she developed 30 music channels for Sky Latin America and as Executive Producer of a two-hour music television special for the launch of Mun2. Her experience in film promotions includes creating the Hispanic marketing campaigns around the launch of the films The Lord of the Rings, Monsters, Inc., and Y Tu Mamá Tambien.
In 1999, Julia took a 4-month sabbatical to work in Albania with a French NGO providing food and aid to refugees from Kosovo.
Julia began her career in Hispanic Television in 1991 at Univision Networks as a Producer, Line Producer, Field Producer and Reporter for a variety of Univision’s on air news, talk, and entertainment programs including Univision network news, Primer Impacto (a daily one hour news magazine), including groundbreaking news events such as Hurricane Andrew in 1994.
Julia was born in Cienaga, Colombia, and received her bachelors of arts from the University of Miami in 1990. She is completely bi-lingual and bi-cultural.
