Jeannette Kaplun, Author, Co-host, Chief Content Officer

Born in El Paso, Texas, Jeannette Kaplun was raised in Chile, and is bilingual and bi-cultural. As Co-founder and Chief Content Officer of Todobebé, Inc., Jeannette oversees the quality, standards and development of all parenting, baby, toddler, and pre-school content produced by Todobebé in its different media formats and across its digital properties and mobile applications. Its principal websites include Todobebe.com, Vivalafamilia.com, Embarazo.com, Blogsdemamas.com, among others. She is the author of the critically acclaimed “Todobebé: Todo lo que necesitas saber para el primer año de tu bebé” (Everything you need to know in the 1st year, Harper Collins, 2006).

Jeannette is also a co-host on Univision’s Network family show “Viva La Familia”; in her role on the show, she leads the Todobebé to the Rescue reality segment, where she brings doctors and experts to the homes of parents in need of help.

She was also a co-host and co-creator of the Emmy nominated Todobebé TV show which taped over 100 episodes, and was the first parenting TV format to air on network TV in the U.S., and to be syndicated internationally. She was also host of the Todobebé radio shows and vignettes which were syndicated in 75 stations in Latin America between 2002 and 2005.

In 1999 she co-founded Todobebe.com, the first global baby and parenting Web site in Spanish, at a time when content for the Hispanic community was scarce. Her commitment to quality, creativity and community, helped to make Todobebe.com the top global destination for Spanish-speaking new parents. Jeannette was named one of the most influential Hispanic journalists by the Hispanic Media 100 and included in Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in Emerging Leaders. In 2010, Todobebe.com received Portada´s Hispanic Digital and Print Media award as Top Content Provider to Hispanic Audiences. In 2006, the company received the Canyon Ranch Institute Prevention Pioneer Award.

Before moving back to the U.S., she was a news reporter and producer for Chile’s Channel 13, after graduating at the top of her class at the prestigious Journalism School of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and winning its top recognition (Maximiano Errázuriz Award). Previously she received a Bachelor’s in Social Sciences from Universidad Gabriela Mistral, also in Santiago, Chile.

In addition, from 1998 to 2002, she was the co-host and a producer for the Discovery Channel Latin America/Iberia’s technology show, “Vida@línea”, and its segment “Tecnología de Punta”, where she reviewed the latest tech products.

Her unique background in broadcast and online media along with her love of technology have made her a prominent invited speaker to social media, media, community, health and parenting events. Jeannette has traveled as an invited speaker to events in the United States, Mexico and Chile, including BlogHer, Blogalicious, Hispanicize, IQPC, Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey and more. She has been featured in Vogue en Español, People en Español, Vanidades, Buen Hogar, Selecciones, Kena, Rumbo, La Opinión, Associated Press, Cox Newspapers, Vista Magazine, Sun Sentinel, the Miami Herald, TV y Novelas, Caracol Radio, CNN Radio, Quién and Clara, among others.

Ms. Kaplun is a member of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS), Society of Professional Journalists and the National Association of Hispanic Journalists. She also serves as a Board Member for the Prostate Cancer Mission. She lives in Miami with her husband and two young children.
