Cynthia joined the executive team of Todobebé in 2003. In her role as COO she is responsible for the development, oversight and scalability of the organization to service an integrated approach to content & creative, consumer marketing, brand solutions and technology.
On behalf of Todobebé in 2009, she also developed & published the first ever government, NGO and private sector research on Hispanic Mothers and their Children in partnership with major health organizations including the CDC, Health & Human Services Offices of Minority Health, Let’s Move, The March of Dimes, American Diabetes and Safe Kids Worldwide. The research was received by the Secretary of Health & Human Services, Kathleen Sebelius and has resulted in the development of the National Consortium on Health & Wellness with over 20 government, NGO and expert participants all dedicated to sharing data and building the best-of breed-platforms for changing health behaviors. The 2011-2012 research focuses on obesity, nutrition & exercise with results being submitted to be CDC’s Weight of the Nation Conference in 2012.
She started her career in the mid ‘80s in the PC industry and then joined Ingram Micro, the largest global supplier of technology products. She saw the opportunity to apply her operations experience to the web and left for Silicon Valley during the height of the Internet boom working for IAC and consulting for the Intel investment group.
In 1998, fueled by her passion and understanding of the unique and growing Hispanic market, she built a successful consulting practice dedicated to the Hispanic and Latin American segments with clients including AOL, Volkswagen, Audi, Panasonic Mexico, Kraft, and Delta Airlines. She also worked as a consultant for Tribal DDB and DDB Corporate (Omnicom) on client strategy and ecommerce projects for clients such as McDonald’s, Compaq, Betty Crocker, and Sony Entertainment.
Ms. Nelson is a frequent speaker and contributor to publications including Ad Tech, AdWeek, Brandweek, APP Nation, Digital Hollywood, Jupiter Research, e-Marketer, Marketing to Moms, Forrester Research, CDC-Technology and Moms, National Head Start Association, Hispanics Executives in Information Technology (HiTEch) Summit, Health Marketing to Women, IQPC Brazil, Portada, Latin Vision, Planet Good Radio, Ogilvy Culture and DM News. She is a board member of JT Children’s Foundation, DreamsBook Ventures and advisory board member of mobile technology firm Canvas.
She is a published participating author in the textbook Hispanic Marketing and Public Relations: Understanding and Targeting America’s Largest Minority.
A Southern California native she is a foodie, lifetime surfer/skateboarder, yoga enthusiast, painter, and seasoned equestrian. She currently resides in Miami.
